Xbox Insiders Get More Control Over Local Saves, Home and Profile Badges

Xbox Insiders are beginning to test a console update that adds more control over the Home screen, local game-save storage and wishlists. The rollout is initially focused on Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha users, with selected features available to Insiders today.

The update lets players remove entries from the Recent Games and Apps list, including the Play History tile, and adds an immersive background mode that can be toggled from Home with the right thumbstick. It also introduces local save management: players can view, sort and delete local saves that are not currently in use, while the latest saves remain backed up to the Xbox network and will sync the next time a game launches.

The same build adds clearer profile-badge information, including artwork and details about when and how each badge was unlocked. Players who earned the original Xbox One Day One achievement on November 22, 2013 will also receive a new commemorative Day One badge. Purchased games will automatically be removed from a player's wishlist.

These changes are part of the Xbox Insider preview program, so availability will depend on the console's Insider ring. The full details are available in Xbox Wire's official announcement.
