SNK Unveils Metal Slug Ultimate Collection for 2027 With 10 Games Across Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam

SNK Corporation has officially unveiled METAL SLUG ULTIMATE COLLECTION, a compilation celebrating the 30th anniversary of its iconic run-and-gun franchise. The package is slated for a 2027 release on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, and is now available to wishlist on supported storefronts.

The collection brings together 10 titles in total, spanning the series' full arcade-to-handheld history. It includes the mainline entries from the original 1996 METAL SLUG through METAL SLUG 7 (2008, Nintendo DS), the Game Boy Advance classic METAL SLUG ADVANCE, and the rarely seen METAL SLUG Location Test Version, a pre-release arcade build that has seldom been made available to the public.

METAL SLUG ULTIMATE COLLECTION is built around modern quality-of-life features alongside the original campaigns. Quick save, quick load, and rewind are available across the included titles, while score attack and time attack modes add replay value for veterans. Online rankings let players chase global high scores, and a gallery/museum mode houses logos, visual materials, and other franchise history. Complete newcomers can work through the basics in Combat School Mode, a long-running series staple that teaches controls and techniques. Online rankings, gallery/museum content, and Combat School Mode vary by title.

The 30-year milestone is part of SNK's broader "MISSION REBOOT" anniversary initiative, which also includes a limited-time AR photo frame and a global mosaic art project inviting fans to submit images tagged #GLOBAL_PIXEL_MOSAIC_PROJECT, with submissions closing September 30 and the finished mosaic art revealed on October 30, 2026.
