Sega Showcases Persona 4 Revival, Total War: Warhammer 40,000 and More at Gamescom 2026

Sega brought six of its biggest current projects to Gamescom 2026 for their first public playable debut, with PlayStation Blog detailing every demo and revealing concrete release windows for the PlayStation 5 versions.

Persona 4 Revival, the P-Studio-led modern take on the classic RPG, is now locked for PlayStation 5 on February 18, 2027. The hands-on demo at Gamescom is built around three sections, fittingly named Channels. Channel 1 drops players into the remade Shopping District and the first Shadow fight against Spiteful Hablerie, where the protagonist awakens his starting Persona, Izanagi. Channel 2 turns Yukiko's Castle into a free-roam playground before a boss fight against Shadow Chie and her Persona, Tomoe. Channel 3, which PlayStation says is reserved for press and creators, lets attendees live two in-game days in Inaba before venturing into Yukiko's dungeon and unlocking the new Prime Time meter for combo-heavy bursts of damage.

Total War: Warhammer 40,000 is the first entry in Creative Assembly's long-running strategy series to march onto PlayStation. The Gamescom demo hands players command of the Space Marines across three escalating scenarios: a fundamentals tutorial that introduces the new drop-pod reinforcement system, a customisation scenario in which players paint their chapter, name their force and carry those choices into a mid-sized battle against the Orks, and a final clash against a massive Ork horde on a grim Imperial battlefield. The title is targeting a 2027 launch on PlayStation.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour is playable for the first time at Gamescom with a newly revealed Germany map, one of five international maps in the game. Set to Bad Religion's "Ten in 2010," another iconic song returning for the soundtrack, the Germany map features regional landmarks and partnerships with Puma and Zwilling. Drivers will need to master three "Crazy Moves" — Crazy Dash, Crazy Stop and the new Crazy Drift — paired with a Nitro Boost for tight-corner speed bursts. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is targeting a 2026 release on PlayStation 5, and Sega is also opening applications for a Multiplayer Closed Network Test running September 11 to 13, with submissions closing August 31.

Stranger Than Heaven, the next RGG Studio crime drama following the Like a Dragon series, gets an updated hands-on at Gamescom with three of the five eras in protagonist Makoto Daito's fifty-year journey across Japan: industrial Kokura in 1915, snow-covered Kure in 1929 and the rain-soaked nightscape of Minami in 1943. The demo also shows off RGG's shoulder-button combat system, which maps the left and right sides of Daito's body independently for chaotic street brawls. Stranger Than Heaven arrives on PlayStation 5 on January 15, 2027.

Alien: Isolation 2's prologue mission opens on Kurosaki, a Weyland-Yutani colony where a section of Sevastopol station has crashed, and where the Alien has clearly hitched a ride to the planet's surface. Players take their first steps as Blake, the new protagonist, as she investigates the wreck and unwittingly frees the creature for another tense game of cat and mouse. The Gamescom demo walks through the first encounters with the Alien, and Creative Assembly has not yet committed to a release window for the sequel.

Sonic Pico Park, developed by Tecopark and published by Pico Park Inc., adds a Sonic the Hedgehog twist to the signature puzzle-driven co-op of the original Pico Park titles. Players choose from Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Amy and the newly confirmed Shadow the Hedgehog, with support for up to 8 players, cross-platform play and online co-op. Sonic Pico Park is slated for a later 2026 launch.

Together, the six Gamescom demos underscore Sega's unusually broad 2026 to 2027 slate, spanning RPG remakes, strategy debuts, arcade revivals, crime drama, survival horror and crossover co-op.
