Samsung Lifts Lid on 2027 Odyssey Monitor Lineup at Gamescom, Headlined by a 360 Hz 49-Inch QD-OLED G9

Samsung Electronics has officially unveiled its 2027 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup at Gamescom 2026, with the world's largest gaming event running in Cologne from August 26 to 30. The announcement was made on stage during Samsung's "#PlaySamsung: The Next Era of Gaming Displays" session at 10:30 a.m. CET on August 27, and includes four new Odyssey models aimed at competitive, cinematic and multi-purpose PC setups.

The headline model is the Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SJ), which Samsung describes as the world's first 49-inch DQHD gaming monitor with a 360 Hz refresh rate. It uses a fifth-generation QD-OLED panel with Samsung's Penta Tandem technology, a five-layer stack that the company says is up to 1.3x more efficient and offers up to twice the lifetime of the previous generation. The RGB Stripe sub-pixel layout is intended to reduce color fringing and improve text clarity, and the panel is rated for a peak brightness of up to 1,300 nits on a 3% window at 4K resolution.

Joining the G9 on stage was the Odyssey OLED G7 (G75SJ), a 42-inch curved OLED, while the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SJ) and the Odyssey G6 (G60H) were introduced on-screen during the keynote. Samsung is also highlighting the Odyssey G6 for its 1,100 Hz refresh rate as a separate technical milestone.

Beyond the hardware, Samsung used the keynote to expand two software partnerships. The company confirmed that its HDR10+ GAMING work with Activision Blizzard now extends into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and said it plans to grow the HDR10+ GAMING ecosystem to more than 20 AAA titles by the first half of 2027. Samsung also used the event to show off expanded Odyssey 3D game support, with Cyberpunk 2077 and Cronos: The New Dawn being demonstrated on stage as newly supported titles.

"Players come to Gamescom to discover what is next, try new games, and experience the technology they need to stay focused and compete at their best," said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. "With new form factors, higher refresh rates, and advanced display technologies, the 2027 Odyssey lineup gives players more choice across competitive play, cinematic games, and multi-purpose setups."

Samsung has not yet confirmed individual pricing or retail dates for the 2027 Odyssey models, but says additional details will be shared through Samsung's official newsroom.
