Samsung Display Shows World’s First 300Hz OLED Panel for Gaming Laptops at IMID 2026

Samsung Display has shown off a 16-inch OLED panel that pushes laptop refresh rates to 300Hz for the first time. The prototype was unveiled at the IMID 2026 expo in Busan, South Korea, and Samsung says it is the first OLED display for laptops to reach such a high refresh rate.

The headline figure matters for competitive PC gaming, where high frame rates can make better use of a fast-refreshing screen. Still, Samsung has not said when any of these panels will make their way into consumer products. The company’s IMID showcase also included other unusual display technologies, such as a 6.9-inch Humanoid Display with eye-tracking designed for potential use in robots and an AI OLED Pendant, which Samsung positioned as considerably further removed from everyday consumer devices.

Industry coverage frames the 300Hz OLED as the most relevant development for gaming laptops from Samsung’s IMID showing. High-refresh-rate OLED panels are already starting to ship in 2026 gaming laptops from other vendors, but Samsung has not yet announced pricing or which OEMs will receive the panel first.

For gaming laptop buyers, the 300Hz OLED is the display to watch. If Samsung eventually brings the panel to production, it would give high-end gaming laptops a smoother OLED option that competes with the fastest IPS and Mini-LED alternatives currently on the market.
