Relic Delays Company of Heroes: Definitive Edition to Early 2027 With $29.99 Price and 30% Veterans Discount
Relic Entertainment has pushed the 20th anniversary remaster back from fall 2026 to early 2027, confirming a US$29.99 / £23.99 / €28.99 price tag and a 30% discount for owners of the original Steam release.

Relic Entertainment has officially confirmed that Company of Heroes – Definitive Edition has slipped out of its previously planned autumn 2026 launch window and will now arrive on PC via Steam in early 2027. The studio locked in the new release window alongside pricing on September 10, 2026, two days after the franchise's 20th anniversary, alongside a new "Legacy Trailer" that revisits the original 2006 game.
The details were distributed through Relic's 20th anniversary press release on GamesPress and promoted on the official @relicgames account. Originally unveiled during the June 2026 PC Gaming Show with a "Fall 2026" target, the remaster is now slated for "early next year" on Steam, with Relic telling the anniversary trailer audience that the extra time will let the team finish its 64-bit modernisation pass on the original game, its Opposing Fronts expansion and Tales of Valor. Pricing has now been set at US $29.99, £23.99 GBP and €28.99 EUR, with a 30% discount reserved for players who already own Company of Heroes on Steam.
Relic is once again collaborating with Blackbird Interactive on the Definitive Edition. According to the studio's 20th anniversary release, the package preserves the cinematic World War II storytelling, squad-based tactics and destructible battlefields of the original while delivering a fully upgraded 64-bit client with improved lighting, shadows, water and reflections, a modernised user interface, grid key and custom hotkey support, vehicle reversing, automatic reinforcement at headquarters, and a new Ruthless difficulty option. Widescreen and ultrawide support are baked in, and Relic is promising continued compatibility with the franchise's two-decade catalogue of community mods and custom maps.
"The Definitive Edition celebrates the game that started it all and preserves its legacy for the next generation of players," Relic CEO Justin Dowdeswell said in the anniversary release. "We want new players to experience Company of Heroes at its best, while giving our long-time fans the definitive way to relive it." The September 10 release framed the Definitive Edition as the centrepiece of a broader 20th anniversary push that also includes the standalone wave-defence spinoff Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand, which shipped on Steam in late July.
Owners of the original Steam release can expect a 30% veteran's discount applied automatically at checkout; the anniversary release did not announce a release date beyond "early 2027," and Relic has not confirmed a console version. The studio said it will share further timing and platform details closer to launch.
