Path of Exile 2 0.6 "The Last of the Vaal" Goes Live With Act 4 and a 1.0 Window Locked for Q4 2026

Grinding Gear Games has shipped Path of Exile 2 patch 0.6, "The Last of the Vaal," across PC, and the new content update is the largest pre-1.0 patch the early-access action RPG has received. The build opens Act 4, the final act of the main campaign, adds four new endgame systems, and confirms the previously expected 1.0 release window for Q4 2026, the studio said in its official patch notes and announcement post on the Path of Exile 2 forums.

The 0.6 league, also called "The Last of the Vaal," is a one-month affair that runs from September 12 to October 12, 2026, with the headlining mechanic sending players into procedurally generated Vaal Ruins, where they gather Vaal Souls to power a new crafting system. The patch also expands the Beasts system that Path of Exile 1 players will remember, adds the Aruala's Chosen mini-boss, and reworks several systems that had not aged well through Early Access.

On the campaign side, Act 4 is positioned as the final stop before 1.0, and the endgame side of the patch is where most of the changes land. Grinding Gear's own preview lists four new endgame systems, alongside the new Beasts rework that lifts total beast types from 12 to 20 and adds five legendary beasts with a new beast-crafting loop. The Syndicate also gets an overhaul that expands rosters to ten members with three ranks each, plus new betrayal encounters and rewards including the "Syndicate Operative" unique body armor. The Einhar Beast system from the first game is also being reworked for Path of Exile 2.

The studio used the patch post to lock the 1.0 release window at Q4 2026, with the first season of 1.0 pencilled in for Q1 2027, alongside the previously confirmed PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S console launch that was the first time Path of Exile 2 was available on console. A new mobile companion app for stash management and trading is also on the 1.0 slate. The pricing model for 1.0 will be free-to-play with optional paid cosmetics only, no stash-tab purchases, per the official GGG FAQ.

Path of Exile 2 0.6 is live now on PC via the standalone client. The console launch and the mobile companion app are scheduled to arrive alongside 1.0 in Q4. Readers who want the full breakdown can read the official patch notes on the Path of Exile 2 forum.
