NBA 2K27 Patch 1.3 Lands Today With Matchmaking Fixes, Takeover Nerfs and Crew XP Tuning Ahead of Season 2
2K has released NBA 2K27 Update 1.3 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam today, addressing Squad matchmaking breaks, Auction House hangs, a Fire & Conqueror story blocker and a large performance boost for the PC mod tool. The patch also tunes Shot Artist and Calibrated Takeover effectiveness plus Crew XP and REP earn rates based on community feedback.

2K has rolled out NBA 2K27 Update 1.3 today, August 31, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. The patch went live at around 2 AM PT and is positioned as a stability and progression cleanup ahead of a broader pre-Season 2 update that the studio says is already in the pipeline.
The headline change is a fix for Squad matchmaking, where backing out of the queue previously caused squads to break apart. Beyond that, 2K is dialing back two Takeover abilities that had been warping online play: Shot Artist and Calibrated Takeover are both noticeably less effective after the patch.
Crew XP and REP earn rates have also been rebalanced based on community feedback, addressing complaints that early-season progression felt uneven. A separate save-breaking blocker in the Fire & Conqueror story — triggered when a player disconnected mid-Co-Op game — has been resolved, and existing saves can now continue past the affected point.
Stability work makes up the rest of the patch. The REC no longer hangs during games, and a crash in the Auction House that affected Player Cards with multiple Takeovers attached to their shoes is fixed. PC players get a significant performance boost to the mod tool, and general stability improvements are sprinkled across the build.
2K's developer note frames 1.3 as a response to "the most user-impacting issues being reported" and promises a much larger patch with broader fixes ahead of Season 2. Today's update is a focused pass, not the final cleanup before the next major content drop.
NBA 2K27 launched in Early Access on August 26 and goes wide on September 4, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC and the Epic Games Store.
