NARAKA: BLADEPOINT's Sandforge Update Goes Live With Inor Wan, New Boss Vasshani and a Showdown Recast Overhaul

24 Entertainment has rolled out NARAKA: BLADEPOINT's September 3 update after a planned maintenance window, kicking off Showdown Season 6.0: Sandforge with a new hero, a new campaign chapter, fresh Souljades and a major rework of the Showdown Recast and progression systems.

NARAKA: BLADEPOINT's Sandforge Update Goes Live With Inor Wan, New Boss Vasshani and a Showdown Recast Overhaul

The servers of NARAKA: BLADEPOINT came back online this morning after a scheduled maintenance window that ran from September 2 at 23:00 UTC to September 3 at 04:00 UTC, bringing Showdown Season 6.0: Sandforge into the live game on PC and consoles. The patch, detailed on the official NARAKA: BLADEPOINT update page, is the most substantial Showdown overhaul since the mode launched, and it lands alongside a second hero, Kurumi adjustments, a new Legendary katana skin and the start of a NARAKUP Football Royale limited-time event.

At the centre of Sandforge is a new Showdown hero, Inor Wan, whose thunder-forged moveset was originally introduced in Survival but has been reworked with a new skill and ultimate for the mode. 24 Entertainment has also added a new campaign chapter and a new boss, Vasshani, a serpent-shrouded elder that uses a massive curved blade and ranged elemental attacks in a rocky, storm-swept arena, designed to push coordinated teams to use Sandforge's new mechanics rather than brute force.

Sandforge also introduces two new combat systems: Aegis-Break Clash, a melee-versus-melee interaction that lets players interrupt and counter large enemy attacks by colliding with their strikes, and Starburst, an elemental-damage loop built around a fresh wave of Souljades and Potentials. Primal Starfall, for example, turns Elemental Critical hits into Meteor Strikes that can be detonated for extra burst, while Starburst Art grants a temporary Elemental Damage bonus each time Starburst triggers. Other new Souljades include Pyreheart, Venom Tempering, Ice Ring Break and Thunder Rove, with adjusted Potentials aimed at widening build variety across heroes.

The update reworks Showdown progression more broadly. A Spirit Essence bar now tracks Recast activity and grants Flux Shards at 120 points, while a new Jade Essence Crystal item can be spent to bulk-up a Souljade's attributes, roughly equivalent to 40 normal recasts, with any overflow refunded as materials. Attribute recasts no longer produce rare attributes on their own; instead, a new rare attribute called Sortilege improves the chance of rolling two Critical Hit checks and taking the better result, capped at 100 percent. Season Journey rewards have been upgraded, the previous Flux Jade Shard reward has been replaced with a Legend Jade, and the daily login track now spans at least seven days and ends with a Legendary Crystal that can convert a chosen Souljade attribute into a random rare one.

Nirriti's Ruins and Yama's Abyss progress has been reset for the new season, with fresh Showdown Seals and limited-edition avatars on offer, and the Springbloom Edge Legendary katana skin has been added to the Showdown Store. A NARAKUP Football Royale event also opened with the update and runs until September 16 at 20:00 UTC, with the third PlayStation Tournaments #9 kicking off later today at 20:00 UTC.
