Konami Confirms Silent Hill: Townfall PS5 Exclusivity Will Last at Least Six Months After Launch
Konami has put a concrete number on the Silent Hill: Townfall console exclusivity, stating the PS5 version will not arrive on other consoles for at least six months after its September 24, 2026 release.

Konami has now put a concrete number on the console exclusivity window for Silent Hill: Townfall. The publisher's official product blurb for the upcoming survival horror game reads, verbatim: "Also available on PC. Not available on other consoles until at least 6 months after release date." With a confirmed release date of September 24, 2026, that means the PlayStation 5 version will remain off Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 until at least late March 2027.
The detail surfaced alongside a brand-new 19-minute gameplay trailer that Konami and developer Screen Burn Interactive pushed live on the official SILENT HILL YouTube channel on August 19, 2026. The footage shows first-person exploration of the foggy fictional Scottish coastal town of St. Amelia, combat with the game's grotesque residents, and a first look at the Otherworld, all viewed through the eyes of protagonist Simon Ordell and his handheld CRTV device, which Simon uses to detect nearby enemies. Townfall is the first mainline Silent Hill game presented in first-person, drawing immediate comparisons to P.T.
Eurogamer flagged the new exclusivity detail this morning, noting that the trailer's fine print quietly puts a fixed length on what was previously only understood as a generic PS5 console exclusive arrangement. PlayStation Universe, which had reported the six-month window on August 21, was first to reproduce Konami's official phrasing in full. The English-language lineup on Konami's Gamescom 2026 page also lists Silent Hill: Townfall alongside Castlevania: Belmont's Curse as part of the publisher's Cologne showcase.
The six-month pattern is consistent with how Konami has handled previous recent Silent Hill releases. Silent Hill 2 Remake, the Bloober Team-developed rebuild of the 2001 classic, was a PS5 and PC exclusive on launch before eventually arriving on Xbox Series X|S roughly a year later. Silent Hill f, the 1960s-Japan-set entry developed by NeoBards Entertainment, launched simultaneously across all major platforms and is therefore not directly comparable, but the publisher's preference for staged console rollouts in the franchise is now firmly established.
For players without a PS5, the practical takeaway is straightforward. Silent Hill: Townfall launches on September 24, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and PC, with a Windows version available at the same time. Owners of Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 hardware will, according to Konami's own product copy, have to wait at least until late March 2027 before the game can officially arrive on their platform of choice. Konami has not yet disclosed the exact end date of the exclusivity window, and the company did not respond to requests for additional clarification at the time of writing.
