Fangtopia Sets October 26 Release Date for PS5, Switch 2 and PC in Time for Halloween

Fangtopia, the cozy hex-grid kingdom builder with a "spooky cute" Halloween twist, now has a confirmed release date: October 26 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

Developer Absolutely Games and publisher Secret Mode set the date in a PlayStation Blog post on September 2, slotting the launch into the week before Halloween. The game has been on Secret Mode's roadmap since July, when the publisher expanded the originally PC-only project to include PS5 and Switch 2 versions alongside the Steam, Epic Games Store and Stove release.

Fangtopia tasks players with constructing a "devious domain" tile by tile on a hex grid surrounding a castle of their choice, with no time limit and a full undo history for every placement. Tiles come in six types - fields, towns, mountains, forests, railroads and rivers (the last only in Ghoulish mode) - and matching edges score points and unlock landmarks such as volcanoes, windmills, haunted carousels and "creepy" fountains that extend the world. Creatures summoned from portals, including grotty gremlins, wily werewolves and bawling banshees, drop in once their natural habitat is ready and gift extra tiles.

The PS5 and Switch 2 builds carry the same content as the PC edition, optimized per console and wired into global leaderboards so players can chase the highest-scoring kingdom. The console versions are tuned for DualSense controls and couch play, and the Switch 2 edition supports both docked and portable play, according to Secret Mode's original platform announcement.

A closed PC alpha playtest opened for registration in July and ran on Steam through early August; applications are now closed. Players can wishlist the title on the PlayStation Store, the Nintendo eShop and Steam in the run-up to launch, with the publisher's official news page documenting the previous platform expansion.
