Elden Ring Tarnished Edition Tops Nintendo Switch 2 eShop Charts Ahead of August 28 Launch
Pre-loads alone have pushed Elden Ring Tarnished Edition to the top of the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop charts a week before its August 28, 2026 release, as Nintendo and Bandai Namco lock in pre-order sales.

FromSoftware's Elden Ring Tarnished Edition has claimed the number one spot on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop charts with five days still to go before launch, an unusual feat driven entirely by pre-loads ahead of the August 28, 2026 release date confirmed by Nintendo and Bandai Namco.
Nintendo's official US store listing for ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition sets the release date as August 28, 2026, and the title has already begun populating Switch 2 eShop pre-loads. The Nintendo Everything weekly eShop charts for the week of August 23, 2026 show Elden Ring sitting at number one on the all-games chart, ahead of Splatoon Raiders, Mario Kart World and Pokemon Pokopia, with Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 also charting at number six on the back of its own upcoming launch.
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is the Switch 2 port of FromSoftware's 2022 Game of the Year, packaged with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion and the new Tarnished Edition exclusive content: two additional classes and a set of cosmetics for Torrent. According to Wikipedia, those extra classes and cosmetics will be sold as paid DLC on other platforms, but on Switch 2 they ship in the box.
Bandai Namco Europe confirmed in early June that Elden Ring Tarnished Edition would release on Nintendo Switch 2 in August, with FromSoftware later pinning the date to August 28 alongside the latest Switch 2 gameplay showcase. A retail-priced $80 Game-Key Card SKU was confirmed at launch, and pre-orders opened alongside the announcement.
Nintendo Everything's chart also shows DayZ at number seven, Starsand Island debuting at number 18, and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered holding two slots on the all-games chart as the Switch 2 release slate continues to crowd the top of the storefront.
