Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced a Diablo Immortal crossover with Todd McFarlane's Spawn, bringing the Hellspawn antihero to Sanctuary on September 29, 2026, with McFarlane himself headlining the dedicated Diablo Immortal panel at BlizzCon 2026 on September 12-13.

Diablo Immortal x Spawn Crossover Confirmed for September 29, With Todd McFarlane Headlining a BlizzCon 2026 Panel

Blizzard Entertainment has officially confirmed an in-game crossover between Diablo Immortal and Spawn, the iconic comic antihero created by Todd McFarlane, with the event scheduled to launch in Diablo Immortal on September 29, 2026. The announcement was made today, September 9, on the official Diablo Immortal social channels and is timed to lead into the dedicated Diablo Immortal panel at BlizzCon 2026, which runs September 12-13 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

According to the official Diablo Immortal post, the collaboration brings Al Simmons, a former CIA operative who made a demonic pact to return from Hell as a Hellspawn, into Sanctuary. Spawn, first published by Image Comics in May 1992, is one of the longest-running independent comic titles in the United States. The Diablo Immortal crossover is the latest in a series of high-profile third-party collaborations on the title following earlier crossovers with DOOM: The Dark Ages, Berserk and World of Warcraft.

McFarlane will appear on stage with the Diablo Immortal development team during the BlizzCon 2026 panel. The session is set to feature a live art demonstration in which McFarlane reimagines iconic Diablo characters in his signature Spawn aesthetic, alongside behind-the-scenes insights into the crossover, an audience Q&A and an exclusive signing session.

The reveal lands alongside a new Developer Insights video covering Diablo Immortal Patch 5.1, which includes a personal message from McFarlane. Patch 5.1 sets the stage for the full cosmetic and event details that Blizzard says it will unveil closer to the September 29 launch. As with prior Diablo Immortal crossover events, players can expect themed cosmetic gear, event-specific rewards and limited-time login bonuses once the content goes live in-game.

Blizzard has not yet published a dedicated blog post on news.blizzard.com detailing the Spawn collaboration. The studio has framed BlizzCon as the venue for the full breakdown, including the visual treatment of Spawn inside Sanctuary, the exact scope of the event, and any new Legendary items or class-specific cosmetics tied to the crossover. Diablo Immortal itself continues to be available as a free-to-play title on iOS, Android and PC via the Blizzard store, with the Warlock class as its most recent addition earlier this summer.

Fans attending BlizzCon 2026 in person can register interest in the Diablo Immortal panel and signing through the official BlizzCon portal, while players tuning in from home can follow the @DiabloImmortal account on X and Instagram, where Blizzard has been posting countdown and teaser content leading up to the September 29 launch.
