DayZ Cool Edition Launches on Nintendo Switch 2 as Bohemia Interactive's First Nintendo Release

Bohemia Interactive has launched DayZ Cool Edition on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing the long-running open-world survival game to Nintendo's latest console as a new edition alongside the standard release. The Cool Edition is available now via the Nintendo eShop and marks the franchise's first proper home on a Nintendo platform.

The Switch 2 version is positioned as a self-contained edition rather than a straight port, with tuned control schemes for handheld play and a feature set tuned for drop-in multiplayer sessions. Bohemia Interactive confirmed the release through its official channels today, and Nintendo's own August 20 Download roundup lists DayZ among the new titles landing on the eShop alongside 1000xResist and Wobbly Life.

The Switch 2 launch also shipped with a dedicated DayZ Cool Edition – Official Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Trailer, published today, showing off the new control layout, four-player co-op matchmaking and the Badlands biome update that has been rolling out on PC and consoles throughout 2026.

DayZ Cool Edition on Switch 2 is available now on the Nintendo eShop in all standard regions, with cross-progression and shared servers tying it into the existing DayZ ecosystem on PC and PlayStation.
