Code Vein II Mask of Idris DLC launches September 9 with new story, partners and weapons

Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially announced that the Mask of Idris DLC for Code Vein II will launch on September 9, 2026, adding a history-altering story separate from the main campaign and a new destination called The Forsaken World.

The expansion is set inside the Temporal Rift, a pocket dimension that has continued to expand after the intervention of the great hero Idris and now threatens to consume the world the protagonists are fighting to protect. At its center is the Spindle of Pathos, a swirling force that draws in emotions from across time and space. Players enter the area as it begins to encroach on reality, with the new story unfolding as they try to stop it.

Traveling through The Forsaken World brings two new partners to the roster. Liv Voda is the original guardian of the Temporal Rift and the half-sister of Valentin Voda, returning from years away from the frontier with a combative personality and a halberd-focused fighting style built around aggressive Formae. Lou Magmell is a different Revenant from the one players meet in the main story, a lonely girl who entered the Forsaken World after a separate tragedy. Her past is one of the story threads the DLC gradually unpacks.

Mask of Idris also adds new combat tools. The Formae Grave Knocker is compatible with all weapon types and lets players unleash a powerful aerial kick that creates shockwaves, while Sword of Karma summons a great sword imbued with the flames of Pathos for extended combo options. Bandai Namco also says a free update will launch alongside the DLC for all players, adding additional features to the base game.

The PlayStation Blog post notes that certain play conditions must be met before the Mask of Idris DLC becomes accessible, with full requirements to be published on Bandai Namco's official channels.
